    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I am responsible for completing a variety of daily, weekly & monthly tasks involving European Automobile sales data using Excel: > Daily sales trackers > Weekly KPI reports > Weekly & monthly sales forecasts > Communicating with branches all across Europe I also have Supply related responsibilities: > Maintaining automobile line-up for Europe in SAP > Monitoring Age of Stock > Stock Control

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Further developed my attention to detail. Gained a better understanding of excel functions and how to operate the software efficiently. Gained an understanding of the Automotive industry and how a successful & globally recognised brand operates. I was able to build a well structured routine, and kept organised by planning ahead and knowing what each day would have in store for me. I was able to experience life fully as a working adult, with hybrid working allowing me flexibility.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I was given some strong responsibilities, where I was in charge of sending out monthly sales forecasts to the company, which at first was quite stressful, but thee helped me to adapt appropriately. I was also responsible for creating a powerpoint presentation for Regional Sales Manager to use in their meetings. I feel; however, that there were some days where I did not have much to do, and my time wasn't being used well.

I am glad to say that I never ever felt ashamed of asking for help and was able to on multiple occasions during my time at Honda.

There are all the facilities you need to fulfil your day in the office, such as meeting rooms that were able to be booked and used. Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement. I was able to establish myself a routine. I was able to network and meet new people, undergraduates and make new friends. I was able to complete tasks while feeling I had a repsonsibility and there was an importance to complete those tasks. However, there were also some tasks which didn't feel important. There were times where I found myself with nothing to do, and upon asking for more work it felt like I was given something that didn't feel too important.
