Overview
During my 6 months with Hilton Direct, my role involved supporting the Business Development Team and looking after unmanaged accounts and their enquiries. My role involved managing the inbox, actioning any new requests for our hotels worldwide and converting business and generating revenue for the hotels. With the HWS Team, I was involved in a range of projects including reporting, account analysis, presentations and research projects. I also was involved in different customer engagements.
Skills
My organisational and time management skills developed a lot in the last year. I had a lot of different tasks to manage and I had to make sure they were always done in good time. My analytical skills also improved through the different projects I worked on. As I am an International Business 西瓜视频, this is a skill I use on a day-to-day basis. Lastly, my communication skills improved significantly as I speak to customers and hotels daily - via phone, emails and face-to-face.
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility which felt very good but it also came with a bit of pressure to perform well. I took charge of the Business Development inbox for a good part of my internship so it was important that all the customers were responded to and well looked after but it was also important that the hotels felt supported and I helped in any way I could to convert the business.
Support & Guidance
I always felt supported through this year. If I was having any issues or struggling with anything, my managers/colleagues would always make sure that the issue gets sorted as soon as possible.
Culture
During my placement at Hilton as a Worldwide Sales Intern, I was impressed by the genuine company culture and supportive atmosphere. Hilton truly lives up to its values, with numerous initiatives promoting diversity and inclusion. Being part of the Ethnic Team Member Resource Group, I saw firsthand how we worked to educate and include everyone. Hilton's commitment to its values is evident in every aspect, making it an amazing place to work.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Hilton. It provided me with invaluable opportunities to learn and grow both professionally and personally. Meeting new people and building connections was a highlight, and the supportive environment made the experience even more enriching. The internship allowed me to develop new skills and gain insights that will be beneficial in my future career.
