Overview
Helping support recruitment within GM recruitment as well as for Hotel teams. This involves helping support hotel teams with systems, helping them with agency suppliers, liasing with the marketing team to introduce campaigns to drive more traffic for hotel teams. For GM recruitment, this includes market mapping, sourcing, arranging interviews, preparing profiles and so much more!
Skills
I have learnt a plethora of valuable skills during my internship. Stakeholder Management is a pivotal skill learnt due to the amount of times that you have to collaborate with stakeholders across the business in order to extract data, and get stuff done. I've also strengthened by time management, MS Skills, Confidence, Sourcing, Attention to Detail, Training, Organisation and Time Management.
Responsibilities
Was given a lot of responsibility due to the Laissez Faire style of work from my specific sub team. Therefore, it is my responsibility for when to do certain tasks in order to meet specific deadlines, my responsibility to connect with stakeholders in order to get what was needed which has helped me develop in a corporate environment.
Support & Guidance
Very supportive guidance from everyone involved which helped me settle into the company quicker and form those work connections.
Culture
The company culture is very nice, welcoming and flexible which I loved. Everybody around the organisation is super helpful, kind and welcoming. This is good for workers as it feels like you are part of a community, which in turn increases motivation to succeed even more given that you work with people who also want everyone to succeed and do well. The flexibility regarding my specific schedule to tailor it to my needs works very well too.
Your Impressions
Very enjoyable placement opportunity at an excellent company with a brilliant team. Everyone has got such different personalities and traits which they bring to the wider team which makes it better. Very supportive managers who push for me to succeed and especially with my role, I've had a wide range and variety of tasks and projects which I've worked on which has helped me improve. Additionally, the other opportunities such as departmental cross exposure and hotel cross exposure was very useful too. Given the opportunity, I would love to return back.
Yes
I would advise people to get familiar with all MS programms to get people fully prepared for employment. I would also advise people to be yourself, and have interest in listening to other people in order to gain extra knowledge so that you can apply it to work.
