Overview
In my role as RFP Sales Support at Hilton, I helped manage the RFP process for corporate and group business. Day to day, I reviewed incoming RFPs, worked with sales teams and hotels to gather info, and made sure proposals were submitted on time and accurately. I also kept everything organised, tracked deadlines, and made sure responses reflected Hilton鈥檚 standards and goals.
Skills
I improved my communication and coordination skills a lot by working with different teams across regions. I also got more confident using RFP platforms like Lanyon and Cvent, and became more detail-oriented and efficient with handling deadlines and large volumes of information.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was trusted with managing multiple RFPs at once and making sure everything was accurate and submitted on time. I was also the main point of contact for certain tasks, which made me feel like a real part of the team and gave me a good sense of ownership.
Support & Guidance
I felt really supported throughout my placement. My manager and team were always available to answer questions and guide me when needed, especially at the start. Over time, they trusted me to work more independently, but I always knew help was there if I needed it.
Culture
The culture at Hilton was really welcoming and supportive. Everyone was approachable and willing to help, which made it easy to learn and feel comfortable asking questions. It was a professional environment, but still relaxed and friendly, which made a big difference in how much I enjoyed the experience.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my placement. It was a great learning experience, and I felt like I was doing meaningful work. The team was supportive, and the role gave me a good mix of structure and responsibility. It helped me grow both professionally and personally.
