    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I had the specific responsibility to draft and issue hotel name change letters. I enjoyed having this ownership as this helped to make me feel like a valued part of the team rather than somebody stepping into an environment where I was taking work from people! I also volunteered as a co-leader of the Women's network school pack project. As interns, we came together to create a digital schools pack for 西瓜视频s in high school. The pack promoted corporate careers at Hilton and provided career resources. This was a project the interns drove which made it more meaningful to work on.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Everyone in the team was friendly and approachable to ask for help when needed. However, I was the first EMEA Legal Intern so there were some gaps to fill. To overcome this, I created some intern legal training for the next interns to come. The idea is the training can be used as a reference point throughout the internship to further support them.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • There's always something social going on. Everyone is friendly and the office is nice and newly refurbished. There is a gym and the chance to have massages! The food is subsidised so it's really cheap!

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement year. The highlight would be my team trip to Rome! There is also the Go Hilton travel program that we get as Team Members at Hilton. The discounted hotels made it easy for me to use all my annual leave staying at a Hilton for so cheap. I travelled to Bali, Istanbul, Berlin, Edinburgh and even Brighton!
