The Role
Overall it was a very enjoyable experience during which I learnt a lot more about the profession.
Colleagues were all very friendly and helpful.
Good training at the start of the internship. During the course of the internship colleagues were all very willing to explain things to me and answer my questions. Logistics (such as laptops, etc) were all well looked-after.
I had a reasonable amount of work to do daily, although some days could have been better if there was a bit more work. Overall it was good.
Most of the work I did were delivered to clients.
The skills might not be too relevant for my degree but will definitely be useful if I pursue an actuarial qualification in the future.
The Company
The workplace culture is quite an open one and you don't really feel the management hierarchy sometimes. There is almost always something interesting going on, which varies from someone bringing in a cake they baked or pub outings on Friday.
It was great, I felt like I was there on a full-time job in terms of what was provided (email, desk, laptop, etc).
There was training (similar to training for graduates) at the beginning of the internship. I also had the opportunity to sit in some meetings relating to objectives setting and long term career opportunities.
Company Parties/Events
If given the opportunity I will work for them again.
The Culture
Plenty of events going on, such as pub outings, free drinks, sports after work, etc.
London is expensive as always.
It's in central London so it's definitely good, although I'm not much of a clubber.
I had the opportunity to play frisbee with some colleagues in a league. There seem to be plenty of different activities available but my internship was a bit too short to try the rest of them.
