Overview
This was an insight programme for undergraduate 西瓜视频s that provided an introduction to WTW and its wide-ranging areas of expertise. We were offered multiple learning sessions, focussing on developing our listening, networking ability and problem solving - qualities important in the world of work. We also learnt more about WTW by hearing from professionals at the company. The programme also featured multiple networking opportunities, such as a mini careers fair, which enabled me to connect with professionals from across the business.
Skills
I have developed my problem solving through learning about how to approach a problem, from finding the root cause of the issue to finding solutions that are high impact but require low effort. I have also developed my networking abilities, through learning about the importance of doing so, and learning how to pitch myself, increasing my confidence in asking industry professionals for help!
Business Insight
It was really interesting learning about the wide variety of careers available. I found the mini careers fair particularly useful in illuminating these opportunities, and describing a little more about what they do on a day-to-day.
Culture
The company culture seemed incredibly friendly, as WTW seemed to emphasise the importance of the new generation in adding new perspectives and being the future of WTW, with senior professionals happy to talk to/ help out new employees. Therefore the general atmosphere was also very positive and inclusive.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the insight programme. I found it interesting to learn more about WTW and the job opportunities available through networking sessions as well as developing skills such as problem solving through learning modules. I also feel valued as a participant of the insight, due to the expected continued contact with us after this programme.
Yes
I would suggest to be yourself - this was a key idea emphasised throughout the programme. Also, make sure to be curious to learn, and truly interested in what you apply for. In particular with regards to this programme, I recommend that you try to take in everything that the programme provides, such as through taking notes through the learning modules and building up your network with the professionals that speak to you on the programme.
