    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Spend time with Relationship Managers and Assistant Relationship Managers. Get the chance to see client interactions, do financial analysis, collaborate with the team, gain a deeper understanding of other teams and products offered by the bank. Also take part in an intern project with other interns across the bank. This involves preparing a presentation linked to commercial banking which will be assessed by your managers.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Gained deeper knowledge of the banks culture and commercial banking as a whole. My time spent with the team has allowed for a boost in confidence and broader knowledge. Other skills include communication, collaboration and leadership.

  • A little bit - there were tasks provided for me to be responsible for. There is also responsibility within the group project and allocated self-led learning time. There was still people to reach out to and ask question so you are never stuck or alone.

  • The company culture is great. Everyone is super keen for you to be learning from them and ask them questions. There is never in fear of asking for help and everyone makes you feel welcome in the team.

  • I really enjoyed my internship. There was always something new to learn or engage with. The opportunities are limitless. Time spent with other teams was also really valuable and key to my learning. It has really helped me develop personally and professionally.
