Overview
I worked in the Retail Banking, where I was involved with planning and a project to manage work requests. I was encouraged to have a lot of coffee chats and attended many spotlights. As an intern, we also have a project where we have to find a new innovation for the bank to present to our managers.
Skills
I developed my communication skills and learnt how to use the platforms used by the company. I think I have increased my confidence in the office but haven't really learnt new skills.
Responsibilities
I was given a task that doesn't directly affect the work of my team but does help improve their efficiency. I am getting support on the task but it is my responsibility to manage it.
Support & Guidance
I had daily catch ups with my line manager and weekly meetings with my buddy. I feel comfortable to reach out to anyone on my team and have had members on my reach out to check in on my progress. I would say I have a lot of support.
Culture
I found everyone very friendly and open to give any support or advice. There is often a positive atmosphere in the office.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed it. Although I found it a bit overwhelming at the beginning, people are often willing to help. I know that I have been lucky to get a really supportive manager and to have a clear and tangible task as I am aware that is not the same for all interns. There has also been quite a few socials.
Yes
I would advice applying to Digital Transformation as it covers so much of the bank and when doing the interview really consider their values.
