    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I used specialist MATLAB tools built built by the lethality department to model the lethal performance of missiles. This involved processing and interpretation of data using MATLAB. As part of a joint project between summer placement 西瓜视频s from different departments, I performed a lethality assessment of a missile system and presented my work weekly.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I felt I was given lots of responsibility. especially for my own work which I enjoyed. I was given a task at the beginning of the placement and left largely to manage my own work, providing weekly updates to different teams.

  • The team had a good structure which meant I knew where to access help. Members of the team regularly checked in to ensure I was happy and they were keen to answer any questions I had.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • It was a really enjoyable company to work for. I would definitely like to return. Everyone had a real passion for their work but at the same time didn't set unrealistic expectations. People were friendly and keen to introduce themselves and explain their role.

  • I have really enjoyed my internship so far - the work has been really enjoyable as it aligns with my own interests and is engaging. The company is really good to work for and full of knowledgeable and friendly people.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to MBDA
  • It is most important to be interested in the role you are applying for. I had a long and interesting discussion with my interviewer about certain topics we both found interesting. Whilst my previous programming experience helped with the role, a lot of it was very niche so the best thing to do was demonstrate a level of base skills and a passion for the role.
