Overview
Day-to-day involves joining many team meeting and market development calls, which help me gain as much relevant knowledge as possible. I also communicate with my team and traders to understand the teams role even more, and ask questions which can support presentations I am working on.
Skills
I have developed my communication skills, presentation skills and networking skills. I have also gained valuable excel skills through mandatory training.
Responsibilities
The objectives set out by me and my manager, was to focus on certain areas and fully understand those, as time is limited. However, I was still given presentations to work on, which I had to source information for by talking to other members and traders.
Support & Guidance
My mentor is very supportive and always happy to help and answer my questions. Also, my mentor has given me a lot of trainings and advice, so I have indeed received a lot of support and guidance.
Culture
The company culture is probably the best thing about UBS. All employees are friendly and always happy to help and answer any questions. Everyone makes the interns feel welcome, which makes coming to work very enjoyable.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship, as the culture really stood out to me. My mentor and managers have been extremely supportive, making me always feel welcome. Also, I have received a lot of advice and guidance which has helped me with the internship overall.
Yes
I would definitely suggest applying as UBS is a great place to work. If you have a similar experience to me, I am sure you will love it and see it as a very valuable opportunity which will kickstart your career.
