Overview
Intern within the quantitative investment strategies team. My day to day consists of building Python scripts for implementing and backtesting strategies, creating new tools to automate internal processes and analysing existing strategies to monitor their performance.
Skills
My coding skills have improved significantly. My understanding of investment strategies and financial instruments was close to null before starting and has developed very quickly
Responsibilities
Yes, all the projects I was working on where real tools for the team which would be eventually be put into production by the relevant team groups
Support & Guidance
It was a balance of independent work and learning from teaching given by the team. However every time I had a question they would be available to answer it
Culture
Everyone was nice individually and the overall vibe in the teams was positive and constructive
