Overview
Day to day you get tasks assigned from your manager and over arching projects that run over the course of the 8 weeks. Typically lots of zoom calls with other members of your team as well as independent learning and working done within a day. There is an intern project that also is worked on that allows bonds to form with other interns in your department.
Skills
Increased my proficiency with tools like : Excel, Powerpoint, email. Developed my team working ability and taught me how to better manage my time, ensuring I was not taking on too many tasks. Learnt about the concepts of Agile work and got some experience with developing AI capabilities.
Responsibilities
It is very independent, meaning that you are expected to manage your own diary and set up meetings which feels like a lot of responsibility. - Particularly when hosting meetings with people not in your team/department.
Support & Guidance
I had a manager and a buddy who were both extremely supportive and would catch up with me most days. They both were always available to set up meetings or answer questions. The other interns in my department were also lovely and always wanting to support everyone
Culture
very friendly! it was very easy to get meetings with high up staff and others within my team as everyone was excited to help and want to have a chat.
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed the experience and it would definitely be something I would recommend to potential applicants
Yes
Be yourself and express your alignment to the values of NatWest! The culture is very friendly and about being curious and wanting to learn, so definitely be passionate and collaborative in the assessment centre. If you dont study HR try to think of any personal experiences you may have that could link into the role (ie. A role within a society you may do, or any job/ volunteer experience you may have)
