Overview
In my day to day work my job is to update excel spreadsheets, dealing with On-boarding/ off-boarding queries, ensuring the resource familiarize with the content of the program so they have a smooth transition.
Skills
Yeah in the role I learned skills such as excel skills, Planning skills, communicating skills, Teamwork skills etc.
Responsibilities
Yeah, I was in control of the on-boarding/off-boarding queries so everything went through me and that was a big responsibility as the team expect me to deliver in their queries.
Support & Guidance
I was given guidance and advice from many colleagues at IBM that helped me improve at work. I also did a lot of shadowing so I was able to see how my colleagues work so i could apply it in my day to day work.
Culture
An amazing culture, often doing social events (my favorite part of my internship) , also doing giveback which we got the opportunity to do often with members of the wider team.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed everything in my internship as I seen a growth within myself that 12 months ago I didn't think I'd see, the skills I've learned I will apply them in my next steps of my career.
Yes
Be yourself, By being yourself you tend to be likable to a lot of colleagues in the workplace which then will give you more opportunities to learn & gain more experience. I would also say embrace being outside your comfort zone as you tend to learn a lot about yourself.
