I was given responsibility at IBM from day 1. IBM encourage you to go and find opportunities to enrich your professional experience. Everyone at IBM treats you with respect and allows you to take on as much responsibility as you want. I was never made to feel like as an Intern you couldn't do certain things, instead they encouraged you to find experiences which would challenge you
Support & Guidance
I was given a lot of support and guidance. If you need help on your internship at IBM, everyone is willing to provide it. They encourage you to ask questions and seek help when you need it. I was never once made to feel like I was asking as illy question when I asked for help. They understand you are interns at the start of your professional journey and are willing to help you if you need.
Culture
Company culture is very unique at IBM. There is always a push on developing your skills whether that be through hands on experience, seeking out opportunities outside your core role, or learning through their own up-skilling learning platform. I believe the culture of IBM is what made my internship experience as good as it was.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed my internship a lot, whilst it was challenging and difficult at times, looking back on the year I have had, the opportunities I experienced, and the skills developed, I am so happy that I did one.
Yes
Be yourself. Don't only focus on what technical abilities you have and the academics, IBM wants people that can fit into their culture and have their own unqiue interests, beliefs, opinions, and personality.
