Overview
My role involves supporting of the running of the studio including: Innovation Studio Desk - handling enquiries, Operations - booking meeting rooms and logistical support of events, Meeting, Workshop & Event Support, Innovation Studio Demos - presenting demos as part of running tours of the studio, Communications - ensuring information pages are kept up to date.
Skills
I have learnt how to prioritise my tasks and manage my time more effectively, utilising productivity tools such as Outlook calendar and to-do lists. I have also developed my public speaking and presentation skills through presenting over 200 demos this past year.
Responsibilities
I was given the responsibility of managing bookings for tours taking place, advising on which demos to include, as well as keeping our internal webpage and visitors' guide up to date. I was also responsible for reporting on some studio metrics.
Support & Guidance
I had a month long handover with the previous intern, and thereafter my team was very willing to answer any questions I may have had. Support and guidance was good in the beginning but could have been better in the next few months following whilst I got to grips with my role and learning how to prioritise.
Culture
I felt incredibly supported throughout my internship as so many were willing to have a conversation about their roles and career background as well as explain some of the company's offerings so it was a great environment for learning and growth.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed my time throughout the internship as I learnt so much, especially in terms of soft skills that are useful in the workplace, as well as knowledge of the technology on offer. I also enjoyed working with my team and larger part of the company as well.
