Skills
Yes - my soft skills including; communication, leadership, teamwork have all developed hugely, as have my ability to successfully manage my time in the face of pressure and stress. My technical accounting skills have also developed significantly, given that I had no prior accounting experience
Responsibilities
Yes - I was given as much responsibility as I wanted and that my superiors thought that I could handle. By the end of the year, I had a subordinate completing tasks for me and individually led several client calls and other meetings
Support & Guidance
Lots - several touchpoints through the year and a focus on mental wellbeing
Culture
Very supportive and friendly - If you worked hard and made an effort, you would fit it without issue
Your Impressions
Loved it
Yes
Nobody is expecting to hire a genius accountant. They will give you all the training and support you need. What they care about is that you are the sort of individual that will take that training on board and give the job your full commitment
