Overview
As a business consulting summer intern, I support my team by conducting research, analyzing data, preparing presentations, solving business problems, and learning consulting tools鈥攚hile developing communication, teamwork, and analytical skills in a fast-paced, client-focused environment. My day-to-day involved daily check-in calls, working on client decks, creating frameworks and packs for meetings, completing EY learning courses, and interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.
Skills
I have further developed my communication, organisation, presentation, and analytical skills, while learning new skills such as data protection, powerpoint, excel and mural. I have also learnt about how to conduct and interact in internal meetings, how agendas are set, how project work is divided and completed, and how to deal with clients.
Responsibilities
Personally, I was as my team trusted me with the work and handed me more responsibility as as I progressed through the internship.
Support & Guidance
My team members constantly supported me, giving me feedback wherever possible and getting me involved in different types of work within the project. My engagement manager ensured that I had something valuable to work on everyday and I even got to interact with high-level employees like partners and MDs who provided me with insightful advice and made me felt welcomed.
Culture
I quite like the company culture and general atmosphere. The emphasis on work-life balance, boundaries, and mental health resonated with me, motivating me to work harder. The scope of projects, clients, industries and overall type of work I could explore in the future also fascinates me. The people are amazing, kind, and light-hearted, allowing me to make meaningful connections and expand my network in my short time here.
