    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role is within Reward and Recognition which means my team and I work to make people around the business feel valued. I have certain tasks that I do monthly such as analysing the business wide monthly eNPS survey, I create an article that goes in the global newsletter in which I recognise colleagues for their efforts, and I create a tax report based on the expenses made by UK based colleagues. Additionally I help to plan events that travel around UK sites in which colleagues can drive the cars they help to make, and I also a significant amount of analysis.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have hugely built upon both my written and verbal communication. I have built up my confidence and pushed myself to deliver presentations, as well as interacting in large group settings, and getting to know other undergrads and make great friends. I have developed writing concisely and fitting a brief. My technology skills (particularly excel) have hugely grown, as have my time planning.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • I would say I have been given a relatively large amount of responsibility. Since my job involves a lot of interaction with other colleagues without supervision, as well as placing large expensive orders for the events I plan, I have had to be mature and take it seriously. I have dealt with contractors, and written lots of articles that have gone out to the whole business. All of these involve a certain extent of responsibility I think.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I received a lot. I have had several points of contact from the start in case I need support. For example I was allocated a buddy at the very start of the year, my manager is an extremely kind and supportive individual who I would feel comfortable to ask for help, and I work very closely with a colleague who has always been patient for me and taught me a huge amount. Additionally, support from the early careers team has always been provided.

    Culture

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • Very supportive and encouraging of my growth. I genuinely couldn't have enjoyed the atmosphere more than I have. I loved having team meals/ coffees/ meetings and making the meaningful connections I have throughout the year.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I truly couldn't have enjoyed it more than I have. I have mostly enjoyed the work I have been doing and feel that I have made an impact. I have loved being in the team I am, I have made so many brilliant friends, and most importantly I have hugely grown as both a person and a professional. I have built upon lots of my skills that without industry experience I wouldn't have been able to and I love the fact my confidence has been boosted.
