Overview
I was a member of the network delivery team, and my main role in the team was to create automation tools using Python to streamline the workflow of my team.
Skills
Teamwork/communication - significantly different (better) environment to any group assignments done during university. Having people in your team who you can count on and learn from is brilliant
Responsibilities
After a couple of months of learning how my team operated I was able to quickly develop tools to help them significantly and I have been treated as just another member of my team rather than just a random intern
Support & Guidance
My manager and other members of my team were more than willing to answer any questions I had in detail and provided me with all the support I could have asked for
Culture
Great environment to work in, everyone does want to get their work done but certainly on my team my manger never pushed the pressure of deadlines on to the rest of the team and trusted the team to get the work done
Your Impressions
I had a brilliant time on my placement and I would love to get a return offer for the graduate scheme, it's a great experience to have outside of the degree
Yes
I had applied for so many placements during my second year and so many of them were an absolute pain to get through and often the effort you put into your application was completely ignored or rejected. The JLR application process in comparison is no where near as time consuming or painful and in my experience they got back to me on the results of the previous round quickly
