Overview
Part of the 12V battery team focussing on matlab and simulink but also working with CAD modelling occasionally.
Skills
developed matlab and simulink skills, including coding skills. improved on my presentation skills and team working capabilities. i have also learnt stakeholder management and have been able to arrange and lead meetings with battery suppliers from China over Teams calls.
Responsibilities
yes, i was given the task of modelling battery behaviour and i was set as the sole individual leading this work. regular check-ups were arranged with my manager so progress could be checked and i was expected to deliver results to colleagues as well as updating the shared online documentation board.
Support & Guidance
Extensive support, regular check-ins with my manager as well as the undergraduate cohort leader meetings to discuss any issues that may be bothering me. I was given plenty of guidance on what work i need to do and any questions i had were promptly answered with detail.
Culture
Very positive and supportive. I was immediately welcomed as part of the company and felt welcomed anywhere I went. I was included in everything my team was taking part in and i was not looked down on in any way

Thoroughly enjoyed my placement, i had plenty of work to do as well as numerous events i was able to attend outside of work.
