Overview
I am a quality engineer within body chassis engineering, I have a number of projects involving door quality issues, to fix these I look into customer warranty claims, do physical testing and measuring of cars and help create rapid prototype parts to help contain or fix certain quality issues.
Skills
I have learn how to use kits and softwares such as EZ and Calipri I have planned large rig tests and learnt valuable project management and planning skills
Responsibilities
Yes, I was leading a number of projects that I was left to get on with myself throughout the year, although I do have consistant check up and support whenever needed
Support & Guidance
Lots! I had fortnightly 1-1 catch ups with my manager and bi-weekly meetings with my team to discuss how projects were progressing and next steps. I was never short of support
Culture
Very welcoming, and suprisingly laid back atmoshphere. Everyones very friendly and happy to help. Being able to work from home whenever I needed made the job very flexible and gave a great work-life balance. Inside the office there always something going on, cool things to go and see or prople to meet.
Your Impressions
I enjoyed it alot more than I expected. I was given so much freedom to get on with my projects which made the job less stressfull and more enjoyable. I would say the only negative is sometimes the work would get slightly repetative at times but I was often offered opertunities to try new things and I felt comfertable to ask for different work. I got to see alot of different aspects within the buisness and the chnace to do lots of hands on work.
Yes
