Overview
My role within JLR has been one of the main engineering designing and implementing AI models within a project scope.
Skills
I have learnt so many skills during my time here. I have become much more confident in team leading, planning and the quality of my code has sky-rocketed. I have also learnt so much about industrial development and application of AI systems.
Responsibilities
I was given a very good amount of responsibility. This was given to me gradually so I never actually felt daunted by the responsibility. It was a very good way of naturally allowing me to take on more responsible roles within the project at my own pace and understanding how I control said responsibilities in my own manner.
Support & Guidance
Throughout my placement I was reminded that support was available for me. Giving me a strong sense that I was accepted as part of the team and that people respected me.
Culture
Amazing. There was a time for small talk and a little jokes, then we could switch into talking about work at the drop of a hat. We all knew we were only human and that our expectations were reflected as such.
Your Impressions
I I love working with AI and have done for years before this point. So from my point of view it was business as usual apart from this time I was being paid! The work I was given was interesting and engaging to myself. It felt as though my line manager and team organisers knew what my strengths were and gave me work that could be done to the highest quality with me.

Talk about what you are passionate about. Let that interest speak for you about your ability to work with it and how it can effect the company in a good way.
