Overview
No day would look the same within the role at Unilever and I think that's the best part about it - You get to experience different facets of the business and it keep you on your toes. To give an overview, I support my team in driving overall Homecare Digital Commerce performance - this could be mean supporting with analysis; driving important digital shelf KPIs and delivering financial reports etc.
Skills
This opportunity has helped me expand my skill sets immensely - If I have to specifically talk about one skill that would be my analytical skills. As a CD intern, you work with lots of data and excel and also how you present that data to get the most efficiency out of it. I have been able to improve my critical thinking in terms of how to analyse the data and deliver actionable insights from it.
Responsibilities
Absolutely - I think the pace at which I was given responsibility was great. At the start of my placement, I was given enough time to take in things and understand how the business works and I was assured as I learnt things I would be handed more responsibility. Throughout my time, I was always challenged to take initiative to drive results, rather than just supporting. I think that was the best part about my placement as it helped me improve my confidence and learn a lot more.
Support & Guidance
I should rate it a 5/5 - I had an excellent relationship with my manager and always had the support of my team along with it. It was always easy to rely on my team whenever I needed more support - This explains the amazing work culture that exists within Unilever.
Culture
I would say it is a really supportive and driven culture at Unilever - You have the support of your colleagues while also the drive and motivation to deliver good results for the company.
Your Impressions
Extremely well, I had an excellent time as CD IP where I had the opportunity to work across markets around the world, make a tangible impact within the company while also developing my skillsets and business acumen.
Yes
I would suggest do lots of research into the company and Unilever is really big on purpose and sustainability so think about your take on it. Besides that, I would also say Unilever is trying to get to know you through the interviews and your application so be your confident self!
