    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role is working as a Customer Account Manager, where I work as the contact for my customer at Unilever. I am responsible for planning products to list in the retailer, promotions and in-store activations. As sales is all about hitting a specific turnover the environment is focused on opportunities to increase turnover and winning in the market.

  • I've improved in my understanding of commercial accumen, my confidence and teamwork skills. These are all key parts of being in sales.

    Responsibilities

  • Yes, I was responsible for an account at Unilever. If I didn't take action on the account or address an issue they were facing, no one else in the business would. I learnt to have a passion for my account as it was my responsibility.

  • I had a very supportive line manager who helped me develop my skills and answer questions I had. My team was great as well and they helped me become a better account manager.

  • I really enjoyed my placement as it was a great opportunity for me to experience a corporate environment and experience the sales industry. I loved the responsibility I got and this really helped me grow in my confidence.
