Overview
This role involves business partnering with key stakeholders and owning responsibility of the OVH line within Profit and Loss statement. Additionally, we manage the central BMI and OVH processes for Month End Close, including preparing and submitting monthly journals, producing forecasts and collaborating with the rest of the European FET. The Budget Control Analyst also provides ad hoc analysis of Overheads and Brand and Marketing Investments spend to support Commercial Finance on decisions.
Skills
've significantly enhanced my data analysis and interpretation skills through exposure to a broader dataset, enabling deeper insights into financial information. My understanding of financial terminology and budgeting principles has also grown, allowing for more accurate and efficient processing of budget-related queries. Furthermore, my communication skills have been refined for clearer reporting, and my information retrieval has become more efficient, making me a more capable tool for budget control analysis.
Responsibilities
Throughout my placement I was given lots of responsibility from taking ownership of multiple processes to presenting in meetings with different stakeholders. Taking ownership of certain month end processes allows me to contribute to the performance of the business.
Support & Guidance
Throughout my placement I received plenty of support from both my line manager and my wider team. Whenever I had any questions/issues there was no hesitation from them when it came to helping.
Culture
The company culture is great and everyone is extremely friendly. Unilever is a great company to work for when it comes to office culture. There are regular events in and out of office to bond with teammates and across functions.
