Overview
On the marketing team helping with the design side of the brand, this includes work on pack designs, campaign work, communication with external agencies and local markets, creation of frameworks/ guidelines (Examples: Digital and social framework, ISKV Framework).
Skills
Resilience - overcoming challenges and not giving up in the adversity of change and difficulties. When presented with problems, proactively looking for solutions to help. Commercial awareness - understanding aspects that may impact the brand such as cultural relevance, economic states, political influences, etc. Resourcefulness - Reaching out to people around me and using the best of my knowledge to overcome challenges.
Responsibilities
Yes, once I built up my confidence, trust with fellow employees and understanding of the brand, I was given a lot more exposure and responsibility to lead on my own tasks and projects.
Support & Guidance
I had regular one to ones with my manager and the team around me made sure to support me throughout the placement and lend a hand when needed.
Culture
Good. The company held different events (i.e., coffee mornings, fitness classes, sport events, charity events, etc.) to boost the morale of employees.
Your Impressions
My placement was a great opportunity to develop my understanding and knowledge on a industry that I am interested in. It significantly helped to develop skills that I will now be able to bring forward into my future career.
