Overview
Day to day is very different, my daily tasks consisted of working out ways to reduce the waste we have within the factory, factory asset management, and data collection, whilst also implementing the solution to problems I had identified. It was very varied as there were a lot of projects I picked up and enjoyed.
Skills
I was able to develop, not only my confidence, but my time management skills, my public speaking, and my critical thinking. I was also able to develop my project management skills, and Microsoft excel and PoweApps. I have been able to both personally and professionally enhancing myself to be the best I can within my future career.
Responsibilities
Yes, I was eased into it though which was very beneficial. As they do understand I was new to the company, the first month and a half I was eased into the role able to kind of learn about it and then after that period, I controlled my own projects, I led them. I was even able to start my own work where I saw a problem I was able to solve it.
Support & Guidance
There was so much support, especially since everyone did understand that we are still learning we are new to the company it was my first time in industry. So they were understanding of that and were able to support during my time here, and if I was ever unsure of anything, I was able to get guidance from the right people, and help point me in the right direction
Culture
The atmosphere was not at all what I was expecting. I was pleasantly surprised. In terms of the view I had was that I would be very corporate, when in fact it isn't like that at all. It is very friendly open and welcoming. I felt right at home from the first couple of days.
Your Impressions
I have really enjoyed the year so far. It has been a once in my lifetime opportunity, I have made professional connections and almost kick started my future career after I graduate University. I have enjoyed the hands on experience and being able to see what we learn in uni in real life has been amazing.
Yes
Be your best self, be confident enough within yourself to show off your personality, everyone is very pleasant to talk to, and one thing I noticed when meeting new people is to just be engaged with the conversation and show that I am excited to learn more about what it is they do, and to get involved with everything you can.
