The Role
I have absolutely loved my year with Hays. It has exceeded all expectations I had.
I truely feel valued and appreciated by my colleagues. I am treated the same as a full-time member of staff and I get on very well with my team.
I have been given support and guidance throughout the whole year. Any time I have needed help it has been given and I know exactly who to go to with any issues I may have. I have had multiple reviews throughout the year which have been constructive and make me feel as if I am contributing just as much as any other member of the team.
Very busy! You don't clock watch at Hays. Usually there's not enough hours in the day to get everything done but I like that as the days go quickly and you always have something to occupy your time with.
As much as an associate. I was given my own desk to recruit for which meant I dealt with both clients and candidates on a daily basis. I also took on the role of Talent Scout which involved recruiting Interns for the following year which I really enjoyed and it meant I got to experience another part of recruitment.
I have learnt so much at Hays that I can apply to my course next year. My typing has definitely improved which will help in my dissertation!! I have also gained in confidence as I have to talk to people on the phone every day, meet candidates in the office and present myself to clients on meetings.
The Company
The office is always lively. Everyone is constantly on the phone so it's always noisy and busy but it's a good atmosphere which I thrived off of. There's a lot of banter with colleagues too so there's never a dull moment.
The entire year has been very well organised. The recruitment process was seamless and I felt at ease at each stage. Then throughout the year my targets and goals have always been explained clearly and any questions I had were answered.
I had 12 weeks of classroom/desk training to begin my placement which was invaluable to my placement at Hays. Then throughout the year there were lunch and learn sessions which I attended and Systems training once a month. You wont find a company that train you as much and as well as Hays do.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing! The people at Hays make you want to stay forever! They constantly review your progress at Hays and providing you have consistently worked hard all year a role is very likely to be offered to you to come back after university.
The Culture
There is a very good social scene at Hays however I tended to socialise more with my team than other placement 西瓜视频s as we were quite spread out within the office.
Very expensive! I lived in Canary Wharf and worked in Victoria so it doesn't get much more expensive really but both areas are great for socialising.
The pub nearest to work is the main place everyone goes to, however there isnt much else around. The city and shoreditch are only a tube ride away though.
Loads! There's a social engagement team at Hays who constantly organise activities for example clubs like yoga and dancing, pub quizes and football and netball tournaments. There are also a lot of incentives you get to go on if your team hits their targets where food and drink are always provided and its always a good laugh. The best incentive I went on was a day trip to Brussels with my team, it was a great day.
