The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my Internship year. I found the balance between work and socializing the perfect mix, I couldn't of asked for more in an Internship year. 10/10
What sets Hays apart from other companies in terms of its Internship Program, is the fact every Intern entering the business is given the same responsibility & training as a full-time member of staff. This in turn means you are expected to pull your weight and contribute accordingly, as a result of this you are given the opportunity to progress and undertake added responsibilty. By being an effective memeber of the team, you feel valued by your peers and senior management as you are all working together for common goals / targets.
In my internship I was given extensive support and guidance from the outset. This also extended beyond the work place, if I has any problems, worries or threats during my time at Hays, I could always rely on my managers for support and guidance, You are constantly supported throughout your time at Hays, will aftercare sessions taking place consistently throughout the year.
Due to the nature of the work and the business, there was never nothing to do! I was really busy throughout my whole internship and constantly had a never ending to do list! This I believe is a main strength of undertaking a Internship year at Hays, you are busy all the time and as a result develop an excellent work ethic to take back to University.
I was given the responsibility of a full-time member of staff, I wasn't treated differently due to me being an Intern. In fact they are opportunities for you to increase you duties, in terms of becoming a Hays Talent Scout, Assisting in the Marketing Development or even being tasked with running seminars and open days. If you prove yourself to be a hard worker and capable, more responsbility will follow.
First and foremost my work ethic has completely changed. Working five days a week in a fast-paced and dynamic environment has lead me to becoming a much harder worker, more adaptable as well as developing excellent communication skills. Due to my increased commercial awareness, networking skills and communication skills, I will achieve a better result in my degree and being a very competitve candidate for graduate roles.
The Company
The office is a very dynamic, fast-paced, supportive and competitve environment, which suited me perfectly. It is very busy with everyone on the phones or meeting candidates / clients.
The organisation of the Hays Internship is second to none. From the outset you know what your Internship year is going to consist of, what is expected of you as well as the channels for potential progression. The training provided is structured over a period of time and never stops.
At Hays as an Intern you are given the same amount of time and investment as full-time member of staff. You are put through the same training modules and online exams in order to become an expert. I personally undertook relevant module training with experts across our business as well as training with my manager in regards to my specialism and was sent on specific training days away from the office and loacted in the Hays training facilities to further enhance my development. 10/10. Excellent.

Very appealing, I would happily come back and work for Hays and be very confident of a successful future.
The Culture
There was an excellent social scene, this included Intern nights out, team nights out, Divisional events, and the Christmas / End of Year parties, which all interns were invited to. The social aspect was brilliant.
Obviously the cost of living and going out in London is expensive, but the salary given at Hays is really competitive and the bonus on top allowed for more than comfortable living throughout the year.
The nightlife was amazing, an endless amount of bars, clubs and pubs as well as extensive restaurants and places to go! There was always something to do, every night!
There were sporting opportunites, which included netball & football teams.
