The Role
A thoroughly enjoyable year - full of ups and downs but I would happily do it all over again!
I felt like it initially took some time for some consultants to recognise my candidates as strong options for roles, but once credibility was gained, I felt like my work was a lot more valued by others
Strong training plans and a workplace that is full of colleagues who are always happy to advise/help
There's always something to do in the world of recruitment!
I would've liked to have worked a 360掳 desk as I honestly believe that I could've achieved a lot more fee-wise that way, although the responsibility that I was given on my 180掳 desk was fine and I was given the chance to work two roles
This year has given me plenty of dissertation topic ideas and I have been able to develop a wide range of transferable skills that I can utilise in future workplaces
The Company
I was fortunate enough to join an outstanding team that I got along very well with and really enjoyed being around
Very well, particularly thanks to clear training programmes and constant reviews of personal development
From the initial training sessions to the opportunity to be heavily involved with the training & development of my replacement intern, I have been given plenty of opportunities to grow in my role throughout the year
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
Not quite 10/10 as no official offers have been made, but brief discussions have been had and I would absolutely love to return to a 360掳 desk within the same team to start a long-term career at Hays!
The Culture
Incredible wrap-up parties, infamous Friday nights out and plenty of team events kept my midweek social life very busy throughout the year!
Due to the fact that I've been living in Surrey and working in Cheapside, my travel hasn't been cheap (拢3,076 for a 12-month Travelcard, to be precise). This, along with the cost of socialising in the City has done a lot of damage to my bank balance, although I was aware of what I was signing up to when I accepted a role in the City!
Several nice pubs/bars around but not a whole lot of choice without heading into Central.
Lots of clubs/opportunities to get involved, although I didn't utilise most of them.
