The Role
Everyday was definitely very challenging, but at the same time extremely rewarding.
I was given praise by my manager and colleagues when I achieved a sale.
I had regular monthly meetings with my manager to discuss my performance and to set my goals/targets for the next month. It was always an open discussion where my input/opinions were taken into consideration and it was always collaborative process
Due to the nature of recruitment and of the sector that I worked in, there were very busy periods that were stressful, but there were also quieter periods. If things weren't very busy then we were always encouraged to make work for ourselves by being on the phones.
I was given responsibility from day 1. This is a job where you have to hit the ground running - at first it was a little difficult but that's to be expected anywhere.
I h ave developed my skill set in ways I didn't think I could. I have definitely built up more discipline as this job is regimented and I can now stick to a strict dayplan that will enable me to get through the things I need to and waste less time. Furthermore, I can interact with different stakeholders (including extremely senior individuals) more confidently than I could before I started.
The Company
The general atmosphere in the office within my department was very lively. We always had competitions and games that would make me feel very motivated. This was department wide, so it was interesting to work with different colleagues that weren't in my immediate team.
The placement was well organised.
The good thing about Hays is that there is always support on hand if you need it - this is the kind of environment where you are encouraged to seek help if you think it is necessary and you are never made to feel ashamed if you need something. My manager always encouraged me to go that extra bit further and helped me develop my skill set .
Subsidised/Company Gym
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Travel loan
I am seriously considering taking up future employment within Hays.
The Culture
Yes, there were social nights organised.
It is fairly expensive. A single spirit/mixer would be between 拢5-拢6.
There are a few good bars with dance-floors around. My office was located very close to the central line - so very quickly I could be in the West End.
