The Role
Extreamely busy and challenging job role- but I have been rewarded greatly and have been set up for life. The experience I have gained and the responsibility I have been given, I could not have acquired anywhere else. Every day is a new challenge, but the autonomy and responsibilty to run my own business has been incredible. To say I have enjoyed the role to the extent that I am staying on part time summarises my experience with Hays! Excellent culture for such a large organisation.
I have felt valued and supported massively throughout and would not only say that I feel like part of a team, but that I have gained friends for life that I will always remain extremely close to. My job role was never one that was tailored to an internship or placement, I was doing the same Recruitment role, as everyone else within the business, so there was never any indication that I was an intern, other than that fact that I tailored placement programme for progession!I was always congratulated and rewarded for my successes and was consistantly informed that my contribution extreamely important.
When starting with Hays I was given a manager and mentor, and had a training manual for them to follow. We have regular meetings for guidence in terms of targets and guidence is always readily available.
Extreamely.Although the day goes quickly, there are never enough hours to do everything. That is just the nature of managing your own business.
I was given more responsibilty after the first week of my placement, to account for my ambition and work ethic. My role was always the same as any other consultant onlyin my particular case I was given a workload of what was originally managed by two consultants, and it was may responsibilty to develop this market to benefit the business. I am currently a mentor another intern and I am responsible for her OTJ training. I have also been given the responsibilty of starting up a new specialism whilst part time at universit.
My time management skills are now impecible, my communication, sales and negotiating skills have also been massively improved, along with general commercial awareness. All of which are highly applicable for a Business Studies degree.
