The Role
Really enjoyed my placement with Hays, lots of opportunity to learn new skills and witness different aspects of the business helping develop my commercial awareness.
I always feel like part of the team and am often asked for ideas to input into the team
I always had the opportunity to ask questions and was heavily supervised in the early stages of my placement which really helped me get on quickly with my work without making mistakes
I was busy every day and if not you always knew there was something you should be doing - never a dull moment
I was treated as a full time employee from day 1 being given full responsibility of my role but also with the opportunity for guidance if needed.
The main skill i have developed is time management which will be hugely useful when heading back to university to continue with my studies but have also gained confidence which will help me in my future career.
The Company
Always happy and always felt part of the team with lots of team events outside of the office,
Hays are well known for their industry leading training which was strongly reflected during my time here, I followed a structured training programme throughout my whole year here.
All interns are heavily invested in at Hays and there is a clear structure to help develop all interns to the best they can be and develop any skills you may be weaker on too.
National Travel
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
There are lots of opportunities for interns to return to the business if you want to coming back as consultants
The Culture
There were no other interns based in my office but i worked closely with other interns in local offices and regularly met with them for work
The cost of living was low as i lived at home, socializing was good in my office as we regularly go out as an office
The nightlife in Watford is fun however not busy on work nights but is good for local clubs etc
Yes i joined the gym with people in my office, we had company conferences for us all to attend paid for by the company and regular nights out
