The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my work placement it was a fantastic opportunity which has enhanced my skills. The culture of the company is fantastic - they treat their interns like permanent employees and invest heavily into your growth and development!
Extremely valued - you were given a lot of responsibility that a lot of other interns would not be given in any other business. They always recognised me for my hard work. We were also given a monthly bonus if we hit our targets. We were also included in all social aspects with our teams!
I had constant support throughout my Internship. I had an intern manager who mentored me throughout my time here. I also had support from the wider business. Not only did I have on the job training I also had online learning modules, and formal classroom training from our in-house training team. As I worked in our flagship office there was also a large intern community (over 30 of us) which was great as we also supported each other.
I was always busy and never bored. Each day was different which meant that the job was never monotonous. If we wanted more responsibility all we had to do was ask our manager so that we could take on more!
We were given full responsibility of our work - the same as any permanent employee of Hays. There were also different roles that you could take on for added responsibility such as Intern Intel (which is an intern only newsletter written by interns) and talent scout roles, I was also given the opportunity to attend different graduate fairs nation wide to help recruit for our intern and graduate intake!
My skills developed dramatically since I have been at Hays. I have become accustomed to working in an extremely fast paced environment with the ability to hit targets and deadlines on time. We were given lots of training whilst here both on the desk with out manager, online and in our formal classroom training. As I was selected as a talent scout we also received formal training in London by the Head of Internal Recruitment and worked together with our Internal Recruiter in our region.
The Company
The atmosphere in the office was fantastic! As the offices were open plan it was always buzzing.
Extremely organised - we had monthly KPI's set which helped to keep us on track as well as regular meetings with our managers to ensure to give us constant feedback.
They invested heavily in us - we got lots of training, the same as anybody who is joining the business. We had opportunities to grow within the role by getting promoted during our Internship/

Very appealing there is a returner programme when you finish university. You can also be fast tracked upon returning in the business.
The Culture
Yes there was - as there is a large number of us we all networked and socialised with each other.
As I worked in central London there is always something happening with lots of bars, pubs and clubs.
There were lots of 'sport' charity events that we could get involved in for our charity partner the Brain Tumour Charity. We also had regular team nights out.
