The Role
Overall a fantastic experience - I felt that I had tangible goals and targets, and was treated like a full time member of staff. I wasn't doing admin or making the tea, and was able to do a lot of autonomous work, but with lots of support. Also a fantastic work/life balance and social scene.
You are given the same training and have the same expectations as full-time members of staff so when you are valued just as much as anyone else.
Support and guidence is always on hand - questions are actively encouraged and training and support are always on hand.
The days are very busy and quite long, but the work is enjoyable and I am never bored.
I was given a lot of responsibility, from buliding out my own client and candidate portfolio to closing my own deals and interviews. You are given relative autonomy to make of your placement whatever you want.
Clearly I have learnt some recruitment skills which are only relevant for this type of role, but it has taught me a lot of skills about real world business as well as heightened my sense commercial acumen. I also know it has made me more organised and a lot more confident which can only help my degree and further development.
The Company
Work is taken very seriously and my colleagues are incredibly professional but it is a great culture and incredibly sociable. It is a bit of a cliche but it is 'work hard, play hard'. You are rewarded for hard work, and it is a very colleagiate and social atmosphere.
Incredibly well organised. Seamless training and structure from day one, with countless opportunities to get involved with additional projects.
I was given countless training and development relating to work, but also given support and guidence for degree work and personal matters too. The company's brand values are all about people, and they practice what they preach.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
From day one you are given clear targets and demonstavble career paths for coming back to the organisation. Current directors who werte interns are testemant to tha fact that the placement scheme works.
The Culture
Work organised events every quarter/month and team drinks most weeks. Really good social scene
Central London's relative expense is well known, but you are paid more so it balances out.
Really good nightlife, countless bars and pubs within 5 minutes of the office.
Lots of additional opportunities - charity work, sports teams etc
