The office was very fun and vibrant at times, making it a really enjoyable environment to work in. The social aspect of working for Hays was good, with regular team nights out and quarterly events.

  • I was given excellent support and guidance by my manager. From day one of my internship she provided me with regular training sessions, developing my skills throughout. When ever I had an issue or problem I knew that I could ask my manager for her assistance and that she would give me the support and guidance I need.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was very busy on daily basis, the work load was intense at times but this was expected in a sales driven environment. It was very important to be organised, planning each day as it comes. I found that by being organised the work load was manageable.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I felt that I had a lot of responsibility on my placement. I was responsible for booking client meetings, candidate meetings/ interviews, ensuring candidates CV's are formatted correctly and submitted to roles on time. I was essentially responsible for finding candidates their perfect job which ultimately affects aspects of their life.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The training provided by Hays was extremely good. Training included 3 day courses in which I learnt how to develop new business, write effective advertisements, and how to sell. There were also regular lunch and learn sessions which I attended, these were aimed to further develop your skills. Throught my internship I had a training book which I had to complete, this involved me in attending regular training sessions on daily basis with my manager. The training provided to me from Hays has enabled me to develop and further improve my skills. The main skills I feel I have developed are my communication skills, organisational skills, ability to meet targets and work to tight deadlines, and being able to sell. These are all skills which will assist me in my degree studies and future employment.
