The Role
An internship at Hays has given me the opportunity to challenge myself and gain new and transferable skills. As a leading global company; Hays gives you opportunity, responsibility and success. They invest in you providing high quality training to help you programme and succeed in your role; this is something that stood out to me when applying for the internship. My biggest achievement for me would be the recognition I receive for my hard work and being successful in the process of becoming a talent scout. As a Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵ who was unsure of my next stage in career progression once completion of university, this internship has given me a clear insight into where I would like to see myself in 5 years’ time – a successful senior recruitment consultant. Overall my internship has been invaluable and has given me the professional skills and confidence to succeed in the future. It has taught me that anything is achievable if you set your mind to it!
Within both my roles as an after care consultant and a talent scout I was treated the same as a permanent member of staff. I was valued as a valid member of the team often being given extra responsibility when others were on annual leave.
As the number one leading recruitment company in the UK, Hays offer industry leading training to all employees. My training consisted of both on the job training and
Each day brings a new challenge; I would constantly be on the phone to both my clients and candidates and I would also spend time out of the office on client meetings.
As a valued member of the team treated the same as a permanent member of staff, I was given the responsibility to look after my own desk and also given the responsibility of taking on two extra desks throughout my time working as an after care consultant. My responsibilities as a talent scout consisted of me helping to recruit for the following years interns.
The training and development that I received at Hays has helped me to develop my existing skills and has helped me to write my placement portfolio.
The Company
Here in our London Victoria office, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone was supportive of each other and worked well as a team.
My placement was very well organised; I had a training plan set out and documents and files were prepared and set up in preparation for the start of my placement year.
Hays invest a lot of money and time in to their employees; as a placement Î÷¹ÏÊÓƵ I was treated the same as a permanent member of staff, given the same training and development as a permanent member of staff.

The Culture
Here at Hays they have a number of incentives for team nights out and office nights out.
Socialising in London can be quiet expensive.
Here in central London there was always something to do each evening; theatre, bars, pubs and many more.
There is a social engagement team that organised social activities on a regular basis.
