Working together as a team to resolve queries. Participating in on-line learnings as well as in person trainings facilitated by more experienced members of the audit team. Here you will learn basic concepts as well as learn more excel techniques that are valuable for your internship. Travel to client sites to assist and remain close to the team.
Skills
As excel is used quite frequently here, you will have the opportunity to build upon any knowledge you already have and sharpen those skills. In addition, you will be using different software so you will start becoming comfortable using those. Throughout your internship, by sitting with your team or reading different documents you will start building knowledge of audit concepts and learning the meanings of different terminology used in the job. Also, audit requires team work and thus you will be able to sharpen your communication skills.
Responsibilities
We were given responsibility to complete a variety of tasks we were set on the file and also act in a professional manner at all times, including when given the opportunity to visit client sites with the team.
Support & Guidance
We were given a buddy who had started the year before so we could ask any informal questions and we were also given a counsellor who guided us throughout our internship. We made meaningful relationships so we could asks questions when necessary.
Culture
Everyone was friendly and so helpful in answering questions. Also the support we received was quite valuable and made it a cherished experience.
Your Impressions
I thoroughly enjoyed by experience here. Even if it was just 4 weeks, I got a well rounded introduction into audit, learning form the team and witnessing part of the audit process first-hand. Also there were many opportunities to spend time with other interns as we all had our training in London. This made it comfortable when we started working in our client offices.
