    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • My role was an intern within audit, where I was require to support the team across various engagements through invoice sampling, financial statement tie outs, stock count testing, goods to stock transfers and others. I utilised Microsoft excel in every task I conducted, which enabled greater efficiency for both myself and the team as we progressed through the engagement. Furthermore, time spent at the client site was a good opportunity to showcase skills I had learnt and learn more about the client and their needs by asking questions about our work.

  • Be confident and showcase the skills you have already. There is no expectation for you to have knowledge or skills about you intended role, instead you should show why you could be a good fit through your willingness to learn, initiative and problem solving abilities. Also, show some personality, you do not have to be formal all of the time and being more relaxed makes it easier to settle into your teams.
