Overview
A lot of shadowing other team members as they work on client work, as well as attending both internal and external meetings. One visit to client site to attend and take notes for a meeting. Some general admin tasks as and when necessary. online learning modules to complete in freetime.
Skills
Developed a new understanding of corporate tax and the various intricacies involved with paying tax as a corporation. Developed also various people skills including confidence, communication and teamwork.
Responsibilities
Some responsibility for admin tasks. I was given a good level of responsibility for an internal social project I worked on. It generally depends on the task at hand.
Support & Guidance
Very good support, having been allocated both a Buddy and a Counsellor that I was frequently in contact with. The rest of the team was also very supportive, taking care to include me in things both professionally and socially.
Culture
People-focused culture. Generally very friendly and supportive. No wrong questions, and you were encouraged to interact with everyone however you needed.
Your Impressions
I very much enjoyed the internship.
Yes
The assessment centre may be daunting but it is generally a surprisingly enjoyable experience.
