Overview
My role was to help with the simple tasks that needed doing. Summarising or preparing documents for those above me
Skills
Definitely. I am significantly more proficient on Microsoft Excel than I was before my internship. Spending hours analysing data and creating spreadsheets, as well as being given access to a very useful training course. My Critical thinking and understanding of the corporate world have also improved.
Responsibilities
No. While I was trusted with important and confidential documents, I was not permitted to make any decisions or take on tasks that required judgement
Support & Guidance
Lots, I was provided a buddy and a councilor. Outside of that all employees I came across were very friendly
Culture
Great. The office has a nice buzz about it, with people often stopping for conversations over a coffee or meeting after work for a drink.
Your Impressions
Very Much. It was a great chance to break into the corporate world and experience a working life. With my fellow interns, we made the most out of the experience
Yes
Just get stuck in, give the applications your all. The application process is more challenging than the work will be if you are successful.
