Overview
my roles is to familiarise myself with as much tasks as possible. Making sure i have a variety of skills to show at the end. This has included tax returns, HMRC correspondence, client meetings and proposals. Filling out HMRC required forms, eg R40 forms. I also got assigned a research project to work through throughput my internship and hen present my findings.
Skills
- I have developed on my confidence and presenting, when speaking to new clients or presenting my research - learnt how to fill out tax returns - developed the confidence to fill out trust accounts -- i have developed on the skill of professionalism; within letters and on the phone, and in an office setting -
Responsibilities
I was given a lot of responsibility during my internship. The team trusted me and had faith in me, which I feel boosted my confidence a lot. I was given a lot of tasks that were difficult but was told to compete with an open mind as I was learning a lot more than i realised. I was told to ask lots of questions so that I'm not struggling and doing these tasks independently really built my confidence.
Support & Guidance
I had a buddy who was a graduate and a line manager. My team really helped me a lot as well. My manager was always on hand to help with everything and i was very supported.
Culture
The culture was very welcoming. Not just in person but the wider team nationally always made me feel welcomed and involved. My team in leeds made time to get to know me and were very good mentors
Your Impressions
I really enjoyed my internship. I made a lot of friends and learnt a lot to take forward onto my career.
Yes
carry out excel training before starting as there is no internal training but it is used a lot. Be open to feedback and ask lots of questions as it makes the learning much easier
