  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • • Collaborating with set-up, site care, data management, and clinical teams to ensure compliance with study objectives, particularly in the fields of trial site readiness, timely transfer of medical data for statistical analysis, and inspection readiness for audits • Leading the communications and management of three external vendors involved in the collection and delivery of trial data; creating and maintaining trackers to ensure deliverables are accounted for • Working within a global team, assisting in running a clinical trial across multiple continents, especially in the field of automating tasks enabling streamlined resource allocation

  • During my placement, I significantly developed my project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Acting as a liaison between Pfizer R&D and the vaccines market, I contributed to clinical trial execution and vendor management. I enhanced my ability to coordinate global teams, streamline workflows through automation, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Leading communications with external vendors and maintaining deliverable trackers sharpened my organizational and leadership abilities. This experience also deepened my understanding of clinical research processes and strengthened my adaptability in a fast-paced, international environment.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, I was given a high level of responsibility during my placement. I played a key role in managing clinical trial operations, liaising between Pfizer R&D and external stakeholders. I led communications with three vendors, ensured data deliverables were met, and supported global trial execution. I was also trusted to oversee compliance with regulatory standards and contribute to automation initiatives, which directly impacted the efficiency and success of the study management process.

  • I received strong support and guidance throughout my placement. My manager and team were approachable and always willing to provide clarity and feedback.
