Overview
As a clinical vaccine research scientist, I get the chance to undertake a range of responsibilities within the team, starting from assisting different clinical study initiation activities for site-facing and participant-facing documents, through to the conduct and closure of the trial. My daily interactions have an emphasis on with a focus on data research and analysis of the trials, observing clinical data trends and communicating findings with a variety of teams internally within our department. I am involved with document reviews for studies, like protocols, protocol amendments, preparation of lab manuals, database analysis plans, protocol deviation reporting, informed consent document prep etc. I also get the chance to attend safety reviews, regulatory and quality, clinician, and study management meetings who all operate to ensure the smooth execution of a clinical trial. There are also other projects like volunteering and colleague resource groups that I actively support, where I undertake varied responsibilities.
