    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found the internship great and it was very enjoyable to work in the office, it gave me a real sense of what the day to day life of a retirement actuary would be.

  • Everyone treated me like I was part of the team from day one which made joining a new company a lot easier.

  • I had plenty of training sessions and felt like I could ask anyone a question at any time if I was stuck

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was passed down work from members of the team, and so If the office was busy, I would be busy and vice versa, I always had something to be getting on with and would do a good amount of client work every week.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the amount of responsibility you would expect from an internship, I was allowed to get on with work and then my work was checked by a more senior member of the team before it was used.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel the skills I have learnt would help me for a career in retirement although I cant see it transferring much to my final year of uni apart from me now being more fluent with excel.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Atmosphere was good, people got on with their work but still would talk to the people around them, everyone got on well.

  • The internship was extremely well organised, it seemed like everything had been thought of before I arrived and never felt like I didnt know what I was doing

  • I was given a lot of training, for both the technical work I would be doing and also general training about different parts of the business.

  • Have discussed a grad job but wont find out until a few weeks after the internship has ended

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement 西瓜视频s/colleagues?
  • There seemed to be something on every week, would tend to go for drinks after work on Fridays and normally would have a good turn out

  • Pretty standard

  • Leeds has a good nightlife
