The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my 8 weeks at Willis Towers Watson. It was the perfect balance in being able to work hard, but in a friendly and relaxed environment.
Well. Naturally when working alongside colleagues on projects, your work is noticed and therefore appreciated when you have done a good job.
Very well. With both a line manager and a more casual buddy, if there was ever a problem with your time in the office, there was always somebody you could go to regardless of the level of importance.
Days varied with work load. But throughout the internship you were able to pick up as much work as you could handle. Personally, I took on extra work and made my time at WTW as busy as possible. The choice is up to you (within reason).
Responsibility varied with projects. Some projects I took part in were internal projects which wouldn't be sent to clients, but a lot of the work I was doing was client deliverable, which naturally was important. I had a good mixture.
Well. The ability to put the theory used into context is something that I feel every 西瓜视频 needs.
The Company
Good. A good a relaxed environment, but still a professional and hard working office.
Very well organized. There wasn't a day that we didn't know what we were doing. The internship provided a holistic view of the department, and it was organized such that no aspect of the department was uncovered.
The company put on both industry, and specific software sessions weekly that covered every aspect of what we would be expected to cover in an internship. All sessions were very well run, and extremely useful.
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing. I am strongly looking forward to, if lucky enough to be invited to, coming back as a graduate.
The Culture
A good social scene. During our 8 weeks there were multiple intern drinks and socials set up by the company, and outside of that we organized a weekly event on a Friday both around the office and further afield into London.
Expensive. Naturally in and around of London is an expensive place. But on company socials, a lot is already paid for which definitely softens the blow.
I didn't experience the nightlife in Reigate, where my home office was. However, it is a short train into London. London is London.
Not massively. But in an 8 week period, I think everything you would like to get involved in was offered.
