The Role
The recruitment industry is inherently a job that is filled with peaks and troughs, when things are going well it is the best job in the world but when things are slow and hard it is a less enjoyable job, however, i have on the whole thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Hays.
Praise is never far away for a job well done at Hays, whether it be on my specific desk or helping other colleagues there is always high praise for doing well and i have been made to feel as much a part of the team as a full time permanent colleague
Sitting with all levels of management out on the sales floor there is always help available and everyone is very approachable and happy to help.
The nature of recruitment is that you can be as busy or as quiet as you want to be, however, not being busy is to your own detriment. Being on a fee earning desk if i am not busy and trying to fill available vacancies then the fees do not grow and questions are asked by management. The job relies heavily on self motivation.
I was given a full 360 desk dealing with both clients and candidates.
Training is second to none here at Hays, i have developed immensely through working at Hays and will take back to uni a very commercial outlook on day to day life and a new found confidence.
The Company
Constantly buzzing atmosphere with business wins coming from everywhere really helped to motivate anyone struggling and made a very close team.
Clear timescales for promotion and targets were laid out from the get go.
Training never stopped. I received different training and up skilling for every challenge i may have come across day to day
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I have personally been offered a part time position for my final year of study and offered a position to return once graduating.
The Culture
Central London.
Always something going on, due to long commute didn't manage to attend all of them and nights were sometimes cut short
Had pub quizzes, inter team football and other interactive activities going on.
