The Role
I really enjoyed this placement has you are thrown into the working world with real responsibility.
I strongly feel valued by my colleagues as there are opportunities for me to carry out training workshops in areas my manager feels I am good at. This makes work highly fulfilling and rewarding helping others around me.
Hays offers fantastic training, wherever you need support in areas you may feel uncomfortable in through on the job and online workshops. This makes me feel confident in my job.
The day-to-day activities of an recruitment consultant will always be demanding as there is always a lot to do. I enjoy being extremely busy as a part of my placement as I feel I am really making use of my time here at Hays.
Hays have allowed me huge responsibility after given the right training and achieving results. I have had the responsibility to interview different candidates by myself and handle the whole recruitment process by myself. This included business developing, building relationships and meeting new clients. This is definitely a strong highlight of the internship.
I have developed confidence which will help me not only in presentations at university, but also interviews for graduate roles in the future. The internship has developed my character in order to persevere when times are highly stressful. As the life of a recruiter is always filled with plenty of things to do, this internship has taught me to be highly organized and prioritize my time wisely to be able to work within tight deadlines which will help me manage my time effectively when carrying out my modules in final year.
The Company
Highly sociable, friendly and approachable colleagues - generally a 'work hard, play hard' environment.
The internship had great structure in terms of how the training was set up in the beginning and how different modules were learned on different periods. I always felt like I had a goal to work towards.
Hays has offered me a wealth of personal training and development. I had the opportunity to work as recruitment consultant for internal auditors within insurance, banking and also work on roles within wealth. I also had the opportunity to become an internal recruiter, recruiting for the interns, graduates and associates for 2017 which allowed to present in open days and carry out compliance checks. Also, my manager arranged 1month work experience in HR for me at Hays which I am looking forward to expanding my experience.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Highly appealing, several routes to go down for people who are interested in people management or generating business for Hays.
The Culture
Strong social scene, birthdays are always celebrated, team night outs, team breakfasts for good work and Christmas/summer parties for the whole organization.
Central London is highly expensive (but worth it).
We have a local across the road, but there are plenty of cocktail bars, pubs and direct trains to main the night life hot spots.
Hays are heavily involved in charity work, this year Hays raised money for a charity through the Tough Mudder challenge which looked fun.
