Overview
Two week scheme. Day to day tasks included real work for supervisor/trainee buddy, practice area talks, sector panels, networking events/opportunities to talk to fee earners, a pro bono workshop and an assessed group presentation. There were also a few socials in the evening.
Skills
The scheme was very insightful, with lots of opportunities to learn both from hands on work and from presentations. As a non lawyer, some of the skills I developed included navigating legal documents and broadening my technical understanding of legal concepts.
Business Insight
We had presentations from fee-earners across all of the firm's main departments. This was very insightful for learning about the structure of the firm, the variety of work and the opportunities for training contract seats.
Culture
Everyone was very friendly. Both my supervisors and trainee buddies in both of my seats were very approachable, supportive, and great in answering my questions
